Summary

Description
English: This chart is mainly based on Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department, table 1b: https://www.censtatd.gov.hk/en/web_table.html?id=1B#

But since the data only had a total for ages 85+ the US Census Bureau International Data Base, which provides well respected estimates for each country, was used for the shape of the 85+ aged population. The total from Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department was used for each sex of the 85+ population, only the shape was taken from the US Census Bureau estimate.

The Census and Statistics Department data is from the resident registration system, the US Census Bureau are using advanced statistical models to estimate populations.
