[edit]Description | Sheikh Mujibur Rahman addresses an estimated one million people during his homecoming speech in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 10 January 1972. He returned to lead the newly formed country after being released from Pakistani prison on 8 January 1972. He was flown to the UK from Pakistan after his release from jail. On 10 January, he was flown by the British Royal Air Force to Dhaka via New Delhi. His homecoming was described by NBC News as "one of the most emotional outbursts in that most emotional part of the world". |
