Summary

Description
English: Taken during WWII, a uniformed member of the New Zealand Home Guard with his rifle is looking out to sea from the top of the Pancake Rocks, Punakaiki. This image, which may be a photographic composite, was used in a recruitment campaign during the war. The Home Guard was active 1940–1943.
