Summary

Description
English: According to the Australian War Memorial he caption to this photograph reads: "Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam. 1968-03. The flag raising on the rocky peak of Hill 323 marked the climax of Operation Pinnaroo. Here Lance Corporal David Halliday, 23, of Mentone, Vic (left), and Private John Scott, 21, of Mount Stuart, Tas, fix the flag firmly in a position overlooking most of Phuoc Tuy Province. This was the first time Australian troops had operated in the Long Hai Hills."
