Summary

Description Photo of the dining cars which were carried on the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway's "Hiawatha" fleet of trains.
Date circa 1939
date QS:P,+1939-00-00T00:00:00Z/9,P1480,Q5727902
, as per label. While there is a 1982 stamp on the back, this would represent a "use date", as these photos have come from the files, archives or libraries of various newspapers, etc. The Milwaukee Road began to discontinue these trains circa 1961, with the discontinuation of the Olympian Hiawatha, which served the Pacific Northwest. By 1971, the railroad was no longer serving passengers, as Amtrak took over that job.
