Summary

Description
English: Beamish Museum, County Durham, England. This is the view west along Pitfield Street in the Pit Village. A horse drawn cart full of hay with driver is approaching - here's quite a few horses on the museum site, so this journey probably has just as much practical need as any value to the museum's mission to recreate what daily life looked like in times gone by, when the horse and cart was the only way deliveries such as this would have been made. The miners cottages are on the right, while the poles for the tramway can just about be made out in the distance.
