DescriptionHawarden Bridge over the River Dee - geograph.org.uk - 405378.jpg
English: Hawarden Bridge over the River Dee Looking at Hawarden Bridge from the cycleway that runs along the river bank all the way from Chester. The bridge carries the Wrexham to Liverpool railway over the river, and at one time used to swing open as required by tall shipping. The wooden construction (seen from the bridge at 404722 )protects the central support and operating machinery from any wayward vessels. The bridge is no longer operational.
