Photo of w:Norwood Russell Hanson's w:F8F Bearcat. Image is property of Trevor Hanson, heir of N.R. Hanson. Photo was probably taken in 1966 or 1967, probably by N.R. Hanson's wife, also deceased. N.R. Hanson died in April 1967. Kindly provide attribution on use of this image. Notification would be appreciated. Trevor Hanson 22:48, 5 October 2006 (UTC) [updated 20 August 2020]
I think that picture was taken in the South Meriden, Connecticut airport. I lived a quarter of a mile from that airport and watched that plane fly many times and do acrobatics over that airport in the 60's. South Meriden is 18 miles north of New Haven, Connecticut and Yale University where Professor Hanson taught.
[reply to above comment by original poster: No, although his plane was in Meriden for a while (I'd guess mid-1966 to 1967), this picture was almost certainly taken at Tweed New Haven, which is where the plane was for most of its time in New Haven.] Trevor Hanson
