Summary

Description
English: c/n unknown.

Built in 1962 as a Victor B.2, the standard bomber variant, and served with 139 Squadron before being converted to a B(SR)2 strategic reconnaissance variant in 1964, after which she flew with the Wittering Wing and Victor Training Flight. In 1970 she became the prototype K.2 tanker conversion and would then go on to fly with 55 and 57 Squadrons at RAF Marham. She carried out tanking in support of the Falklands War in 1982 and the Gulf War in 1990, during which she gained the name “Lusty Lindy”. On retirement she flew in to Elvington on 25th November 1993 and is preserved in the markings of 55 Squadron. She is maintained in taxiable condition and is very much a ‘live’ airframe. Yorkshire Air Museum Elvington, North Yorkshire, UK.
