DescriptionHadrian's Wall at Planetrees - geograph.org.uk - 1023541.jpg
English: Hadrian's Wall at Planetrees Hadrian's Wall Hadrians_Wall was originally built to a 3-metre wide design; subsequently changed to 2-metre wide in the interests of speed of construction, and presumably economy. Here a section of "narrow" (2 metre) wall can be seen standing on "broad" (3 metre) foundations. This is one of the easternmost parts of the Wall still standing, and lies on Hadrian's Way National Trail http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/hadrianswall/
