Summary

Description The aircraft carriers USS Saratoga (CV-3) (left) and HMS Victorious (R38) (right) at anchor at Noumea, New Caledonia, in 1943. Victorious operated with the Saratoga in the south-west Pacific from May to September 1943. During this time, she was code named (not renamed) as USS Robin, for signals purposes, derived from the character "Robin Hood".
