The last active Type 14 "Captain" or "Blackwood" Class anti-submarine frigate "HMS Dundas", 1,456 tons, launched 1953, commissioned 1956. The Type 14's were simple, cheap warships designed to be mass produced if the Cold War ever turned hot and effectively fulfilled the same role as the "Flower" Class corvettes of WWII.
