Description
English: AWM caption: Port Melbourne, VIC. 1940-02-01. Aerieal port side view of the former Royal Navy convoy sloop and RAN survey vessel HMSA Moresby (I) (ex HMS Silvio) during her first period of World War 2 service as an auxiliary anti-submarine vessel (1939–1940). She is armed with a 4 inch gun forward and depth charge rails and throwers aft. Note the protective p[lating around the forward superstructure. (Naval Historical Collection)
