English: This masonry lighthouse, no longer functional, stands at Cape Guardafui at the extreme tip of the Horn of Africa where the Gulf of Aden meets the Indian Ocean. Built during the Italian fascist era, this strange-looking lighthouse was designed to bring to mind a fasces, a bundle of rods with an ax head protruding.
This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: rotated, cropped, color correction. The original can be viewed here: Guardafui Lighthouse.jpg: . Modifications made by Bff.
