English: Grumman F-14 Tomcat in the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing aircraft. The F-14 was the United States Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter, fleet defense interceptor and tactical reconnaissance platform from 1974 to 2006.

This aircraft is the third pre-production aircraft built having first flown on December 28, 1971 at the Grumman Flight Test Facility at Calverton, New York. It was primarily used for determining structural loads and flight characteristics under many extreme conditions.

De Grumman F-14 Tomcat was een Amerikaanse marine-onderscheppingsjager die destijds werd geleverd door de firma Grumman Aerospace Corp. en diende als vervanger voor de F-4 Phantom II jager die in 1986 bij de US Navy werd uitgefaseerd.

Dit toestel is het derde uit de voorproductie. het vloog voor het eerst op 8 december 1971 op de Grumman Flight Test Facility in Calverton, New York. Het werd vooral gebruikt om belasting en vluchtkarakteristieken te bepalen.
