Summary

Description
English: A picture of an avocado seed, punctured with 4 toothpicks and hung halfway inside a glass with water, so that germination would start. This technique is a key example of a fruit that benefits highly with certain specialized seed treatments. For other tropical fruit, certain (other) odd techniques have also been invented to allow easier seed starting and/or with a lower percentage of lost seeds (by not starting at all or by dying because of infection/disease). See this page and this page for extra info on the technique (you may eg add some charcoal in the water). Don't forget to transplant after 2-6 weeks !
