Summary

Description
English: Sigma and pi bonds in graphene. Sigma bonds result from an overlap of sp2 hybrid orbitals, whereas pi bonds emerge from tunneling between the protruding pz orbitals. For clarity, only a few neighboring pz orbitals are shown.
