Summary

Description
English: This rail fragment is one of the few remaining traces of the Grand River Railway system in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Its right of way, which has been transformed into a walking and cycling path connecting Charles Street to the Iron Horse Trail, was originally laid out in 1905 as a freight bypass associated with the Preston & Berlin Street Railway. After the expiry of the railway's street running franchise along King Street in 1919, a new line was built to the south at Kitchener Junction, which was completed in 1921, turning this line into a short spur.
