Description

(view ~due east)-From the east side of the Toroweap area. There is about a 900 meter (3000 foot) drop to the Colorado river.

The South Rim, Grand Canyon, (at right) is a horizontal platform (mesa-like) of Esplanade Sandstone, the erosion-resistant, cliff-forming upper Supai Group member. The platform: The Esplanade (Grand Canyon) is about 20 miles long, from Havasupai Canyon ENE, to the Toroweap Fault, (at Toroweap Valley, Toroweap Overlook), at the SSW.

(North Rim, at left) The closest point about 4.5 mi distant from Toroweap Overlook, is Big Point (Tuckup Point), (of Tuckup Point); about 12.5 from Toroweap Overlook, is the further, SB Point. The 3 Points, Toroweap, Big Point, and SB Point are 1.0 to 1.5 horizontal miles from the Colorado River. (the elevations are 6293, 6104, and ? ft.)
