En buste, legerement tourne vers la droite, la tete coiffee un peu en arriere d'un chapeau noir a tres larges bords, les cheveux debordants sur les oreilles, la barbe longue, le teint colore et les yeuxs vifs, il regarde de face. Un col blanc est rabattu sur son habit noir. A droite, la signature et la date: 1637; a gauche: Ae. 44. Superbe portrait, ou le peintre, en representant l'ami de Rembrandt semble avoir egale son maitre. Cadre en bois sculpte. Bois de forme ovale. Haut., 75 cent.; larg., 59 cent.’)
