While the train began service in 1938, I had seen another mention of the train as "new" in a 1939 World's Fair brochure.
Since I can only view the front of it, I'm unable to determine whether or not the item carried any copyright notices.
Because of this and also because the item may have been issued in 1938 or 1939, a copyright search was done in periodical renewals for the years 1965, 1966 and 1967. The searches were done for "Atcheson, Topeka, and Santa Fe" and "Santa Fe".
Nothing pertaining to either was found in any of these years. Though I believe the brochure was not copyrighted, I have chosen to license this as copyright not renewed.
Note that it may still be copyrighted in jurisdictions that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works (depending on the date of the author's death), such as Canada (70 years p.m.a.), Mainland China (50 years p.m.a., not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany (70 years p.m.a.), Mexico (100 years p.m.a.), Switzerland (70 years p.m.a.), and other countries with individual treaties.
