English: Gloster Meteor T.7 "Ra'am" (Thunder) #18 (two-seater for training) with symbol of 117 Squadron "First Jet" on tail at the IAF Museum near Hatzerim Airbase in 2010. The first fighter jets came to Israel in 1953 at Ramat David Airbase, but the training in that time took place at Camp Sirkin (east of Petah Tikva) and from 1955 on at Tel Nof Airbase, where the IAF Flight Academy was formerly located.
