DescriptionGigger's Island - geograph.org.uk - 972661.jpg
English: Gigger's Island The north end of Gigger's Island with the wooded section of Arne Heath in the background. This is taken about an hour after first high water and already the waves indicate that the water from about halfway between us and the island is very shallow.
Gigger's Island is otherwise known locally as Horse Island, because it was a place that horses were put into quarantine if arriving at Poole Harbour from abroad.
