Summary

Description
English: A map showing Late Abbasid archaeological sites and waterways along the Shatt en-Nil canal in Iraq. To the west, the canal meets with the Euphrates river a short distance upstream from Babylon. The name "Sarat Canal" is shown for this part of the canal. Going east, the ancient site of Kish is labeled, and then the site of Abu Sudaira (which is also labeled as Sabarnitha), Abu Hatab (which is also labeled as An-Nawa'ir), and finally Niliyah (which is also labeled as City of Nil). To the east of Niliyah, the name Shatt an-Nil is written above the canal.
