Gertrude Clark, later Gertrude Hillary, mother of Sir Edmund Hillary. Detail from photograph of people at the wedding of William Mathews and Edith Clark, Whakahara, Nothern Wairoa, Northland. Photographed by an unknown photographer on the 28th of September 1909.

The marriage took place in Tekopuru Church. The reception was held at Whakahara homestead, Northern Wairoa.
