Description
English: Portrait of English physician and benefactor George Oakley Aldrich (1721–1797).

Note that the sitter has been painted with a facial burn scar; unique to the period. The scar had been concealed by later restorer's (sic) and has now been cleaned and returned to the original as seen here.[1]
