English: HAWTHORN, VIC, C. 1941. STUDIO PORTRAIT OF LIEUTENANT (LT) GEORGE COURTNEY BENSON (1886-1960) IN MILITARY UNIFORM. AN OFFICIAL WAR ARTIST DURING WW1, LT BENSON JOINED THE CITIZEN MILITARY FORCES (CMF) IN 1940 AND WORKED FROM THEN UNTIL 1943 IN PAINTING CAMOUFLAGE. (DONOR: V. SPEEDY)
