Description
English: Vilhelm Bornemann (1731-1801) was educated as a lawyer and had a career as a public servant, eventually employed at the Danish Supreme Court (Højesteret) where he became a judge in 1772. Juel made at least three versions of this portrait. One is at the Reventlow Museum at Pederstrup, another at the Copenhagen Police Headquarters (Bornemann was chief of the Copenhagen Police 1771-1772) and the present version was kept in the Bornemann Family.
