Summary
| Description |
To appease sick and close-minded "architectural preservationists", Jiwasraya restored their head office back into its 1909-built NILLMIJ building to its PA Mooijen-designed original facade. It failed on roof and overall main facade is almost comparable to Skopje plastic-neoclassics. Sebagai apresiasi kepada sejarah Indonesia (baca: menyenangkan aktivis preservasi arsitektur yang berotak sempit), Jiwasraya mengembalikan wajah gedungnya yang asli. Sayangnya, restorasi kali ini tidak berhasil membuatnya mirip dengan desain asli PA Mooijen tahun 1909. Bahkan, bagi saya, gedung ini cocok dibangun di Skopje ketimbang di Jakarta. |
