Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Gamma-Re Transition Model |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | The figure shows a simulation turbomachinery blade in steady-state flow where the intermittency/gamma is shown in a contour plot. When writing about transition it is important to demonstrate what areas of the flow are in laminar. laminar-to-turbulent and turbulent flow which is what this figure shows. This figure shows the visual solution of the first mathematical equation. |

Not replaceable with textual coverage because (WP:NFCC#1) |
Solving a system of partial differential equations is impossible to do in ones head. Adding a picture of transition helps people to visualize what is happening |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | The computer simulation is only relevant to this particular transition model which means it should not be used on any other page on wikipedia. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |

Other information | The figure is from a publicly available thesis from the University of Stuttgart. The thesis has been referenced in other academic literature. |
