Description
Deutsch: Automatische Schließmaschine des MfS Abteilung M - Postkontrolle. Diese diente zum Wiederverschließen von Briefumschlägen wie am Fließband. Die Briefumschläge wurden eingespannt und per Unterdruck zum Verkleben transportiert. Der Leim wurde mittels Wärmebehälter flüssig gehalten und an die entsprechenden Stellen verteilt. Eine Art Förderband drückte die Klebestellen wieder zusammen.
English: This machine belonged to the postal inspection department of the Stasi. It automatically resealed envelopes.

Captions

Automatic locking machine of the MfS Department M - Postal Control. This was used to reseal envelopes as on the assembly line. The envelopes were clamped and transported by negative pressure to glue. The glue was kept liquid by means of heat.
