Summary

Description 80-G-479814. McDonnell F2H-2 “Banshee” Fighter drops a 250 pound bomb on a North Korean target, 6 March 1953. Plane is from USS Kearsarge (CVA 33). In August 1952, the “Banshee” first saw combat off the east coast of Korea while attached to USS Essex (CV 9) serving off the east coast of Korea. US Navy photograph now in the collections of the National Archives.
