Fuscidea recensa (Stirton) Hertel, V. Wirth & Vězda, 1972

Photograph of a kidney-shaped spore from an apothecium of Fuscidea recensa taken through a compound microscope (x1000); spore measures 11 x 4 microns.

The Fuscidea recensa was growing on rock at "Bear Rocks" in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area of the Monongahela National Forest, Tucker County, West Virginia, USA; collected and identified by E.C. Uebel (No. U-23, 19 May 2001).
