Description

Caption reads : "Frenchman instructiong Servian in Use of Trench Mortar. The shell weighs about 100 pounds".

Comment : This shows a Mortier de 58 mm type 2 ("Crapouillot"). The 3 wings on the bomb appear to identify it as the 20kg A.L.S. type. This is probably on the Salonika front.
