English: Fremington Camp Fremington Training Camp is located on the Taw Estuary five miles to the west of Barnstaple. The Camp was built in 1943 to accommodate American wounded evacuated from France after D-Day. In 1944 it became the School of Combined Operations. In the early 1970s it became a Training Camp. It is now also used as a film location.
