Summary

Description The Port Jervis Free Library at 138 Pike Street was organized in 1892, the first in New York State under the Free Library of that year. Andrew Carnegie contributed $30,000 for the construction of a building for the library, which was completed in 1903 and was designed by W. S. Ackerman of Ackerman and Ross.
