Description
English: Full figure photograph of explorer and filmmaker Frederick Burlingham in his favorite everyday attire, including his sandals, walking stick, and backpack. His obituary in The Cincinnati Enquirer (June 13, 1924, p. 16) notes that in Paris (1910-1912) Burlingham "became a well known figure in American circles, partly on account of his unconventional attire." Photograph is illustration in article about Burlingham by Ernest A. Dench titled "Taking Pictures in Extraordinary Places" and published in Motion Picture Magazine, March 1915, p. 89.
