DescriptionFrederick & Nelson flagship store, Seattle, 1982.jpg
English: The flagship store of Seattle-based Frederick & Nelson, at 5th & Pine in downtown Seattle, in 1982. The large store at this location opened in 1918 (but with only a six-story building, expanded in 1952 to ten stories) and remained in operation for almost 74 years, until closing in 1992. The building was later remodeled and reopened in 1998 as a Nordstrom store, that chain's new flagship store (replacing a smaller store nearby), and remains in operation as Nordstrom in 2011. The Frederick & Nelson Building was officially designated a "landmark" of Seattle by the city council in 1997 (ordinance number 118716).
