A letter to America's Civil War magazine in their September 2009 edition has identified this photo as the likely image of en:Richard B. Garnett. Garnett's image has long been disputed. The LOC image, which is labeled as en:Franklin Gardner, has little resemblance to the general shown in the English Wikipedia page.
