Description
English: He was born in Rome in 1955 and he is graduated in nuclear engineering at the Milan Polytechnic Institute. He started his career as analyst for the security of the electronuclear plants at Nira Ansaldo (from 1981 to 1982) and he performed from 1982 to 1987 several executive management positions in Italy, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the Arab Emirates, in the company Sae Sadelmi, which was part of the General Electric group. From 1987 to 2000, he worked for ABB and then Alstom Powers Corporation, where he was also chief executive officer of ABB Combustion Engineering Italia (from 1997 to 1998) and later (from 1998 to 2000) he was senior vice president for the global and turnkey systems sales for the gas turbine division.

He joined the Enel Group in 2000, where he performed several management positions of high-visibility, including the office of chief of the “business power” area (from July 2002 to October 2005), the chief of market division (from November 2005 to September 2008) and also the office of general manager and chief executive officer of Enel Green Power (to October 2008 to May 2014).

Italiano: Laureato in ingegneria nucleare presso il Politecnico di Milano. Ha iniziato la propria attività quale analista per la sicurezza delle centrali elettronucleari presso Nira Ansaldo (dal 1981 al 1982) ed ha quindi ricoperto, dal 1982 al 1987, numerosi incarichi manageriali in Italia, negli Stati Uniti, in Arabia Saudita, in Egitto e negli Emirati Arabi nella società Sae Sadelmi, facente parte all’epoca del gruppo General Electric. Dal 1987 al 2000 ha lavorato presso ABB e poi presso Alstom Power Corporation, dove è stato anche amministratore delegato di ABB Combustion Engineering Italia (dal 1997 al 1998) e, successivamente (dal 1998 al 2000), senior vice president delle vendite globali e impianti chiavi in mano per la divisione turbine a gas.

È entrato a far parte del Gruppo Enel nel 2000, dove ha rivestito diverse posizioni manageriali di primo piano, tra cui la carica di direttore dell’area di business “power” (da luglio 2002 a ottobre 2005), la carica di direttore della divisione “mercato” (da novembre 2005 a settembre 2008) ed, infine, la carica di amministratore delegato e direttore generale di Enel Green Power (da ottobre 2008 a maggio 2014).
