English: Franceschi mansion, otherwise known as "Montarioso" (i.e. airy mountain) on Mission Ridge in Santa Barbara, California (today the site of the municipally-owned "Franceschi Park"). Originally constructed in "Craftsman" style in 1905, the house was enlarged in 1907 (when this photo was taken). The property was purchased in 1903 by Cristina Franceschi, and is one of the first residences to be built in what would become Santa Barbara's "Riviera" neighborhood. The renown horticulturalist Dr. Francesco Franceschi's initial plantings are visible in the image. The side profile of Mission Ridge Road is visible, just below the mansion.
