English: Fossilised tree trunk in the old quarry near Pool in Wharfedale, North Yorkshire. Thought to be an example of Lepidodendron, not in fact a true tree but an extinct genus related to the quillworts. They thrived during the Carboniferous Period and were found until the Late Triassic, about 205 Mya.
