English: Remains of Fort Augustus station and yard
View northward to the terminus of the former branch from Spean Bridge, closed to passengers 1/12/33, completely 1/1/47. The Pier on Loch Ness, accessed from the tracks on the right, closed to passengers 1/10/1906, to goods 7/24. The branch was off the West Highland Line of the North British Railway, but was jointly owned by the Highland Railway. Loch Ness stretches for miles up to the right and ahead are the mountains of Portclair Forest.
