English: Former gravel pit, Sonning. The gravel pits occupy a large swath of the flood plain between Sonning Eye and Caversham. They are now used for watersports and fishing and attract a lot of wildfowl. The building to the right is a new rowing centre. The gasworks is in the east end of Reading, a couple of miles away. For the same view in winter see 657828.
