Summary

Description
English: Historic church building of the First Congregational Church in De Smet, SD. Construction of the building began in 1882 with Charles Ingalls, father of Laura Ingalls Wilder, being one of the builders. Construction was completed in by August of the same year. The original structure was smaller than the current configuration and had a belfry on the roof. As of 2018, the church is owned and operated as a church by the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
