English: Fore Street, Trowbridge A view looking to the northwest along Fore Street. The church visible in the background is St. James parish church at ST8558. The present church, built in the perpendicular style circa 1484, stands in the centre of the county town. It is the original parish church of Trowbridge, with a ring of 12 bells. The poet Crabbe was Rector here until his death in 1832. He is buried in the chancel, where there is a memorial to celebrate his life.
