This image originally appeared on eBay illustrating auction item #330032802652. I placed a bid on the item, and I requested that the seller, Ecycled, release the image under the GFDL. I take this reply from Ecycled, incorporating my request, to constitute such a release:

"I'd like to use your images of the foot candle to illustrate an article in Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia. If you're willing to have me do this, please send me an email saying:

I release the images in eBay bid 330032802652 under the GFDL.

since if noone else bids higher in a sense you bought the item I don't see any reason not to use the photos - you could always use your own but since these are there go ahead and use them - I will be flattered to have you credit me and will look for the item in Wikipedia....thank you"
