English: A foliation of the sphere by Lexell circles. Every point on the same small circle through A* and B* (a Lexell circle) is the apex of a triangle with base AB and the same area. The area of the these triangles is twice the angle between the Lexell circle and the great circle ABA*B* at the points A* and B*.
