Summary

Description

Fogarty held its 50th anniversary symposium, "What are the new frontiers in global health research?" on May 1, 2018, at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Julie Makani, sickle cell disease researcher at Muhimbili University in Tanzania, discussed her work and encouraged NIH to continue supporting genomics studies in Africa.
