DescriptionFlyer E902 in original paint scheme turning at Metrotown Station in 1986.jpg
Vancouver trolleybus 2816, a Flyer E902 built in 1982, turning at the southeast end of the bus loop serving Metrotown SkyTrain Station, at the beginning of a trip on route 19-Kingsway to Stanley Park, in May 1986. The SkyTrain station and bus loop (or "exchange") had opened less than six months earlier, in December 1985, and the extension of trolleybus service had opened on 7 March 1986. In these early months the loop was open-air. However, within a year or two, most of the loop was covered by buildings, as construction of the Metrotown Centre shopping centre (later known as Metropolis at Metrotown) advanced, and the loop looks very different today.
